So, Newt is getting hit hard for basically portraying himself as someone he isn’t. The most damaging are the accusations that he actually was against Reagan many times on the big issues, and yet he played it up like he was Reagan’s heir. Add on the little details and he’s starting to fall back to Earth in the polls.
So, who is left? Romney looks strong now for this Florida primary. Ron Paul basically gave no time to Florida as he saw it as not worth his effort to win in a state where his polls were down and it’s a winner take all state. Santorum is stumbling along now, and I believe he was hoping to drum up more momentum before Newt completely blew right by him. Santorum just is not the person that people see as a leader. He is a politician who managed to crash badly when he lost his re-election bid badly.
Sports wise, the Patriots and Giants are getting ready for the Superbowl, which happens not this weekend but next. But don’t tell that to reporters who need a story to report on, they’re too busy focusing on the fact that Rob Gronkowski didn’t practice today. Not a big deal, he’ll play as he returned to the game anyway, it’s likely a sprain that they didn’t want him to rush back to practice with.
Anyway, I guess there is a debate tonight, maybe I’ll watch it, or maybe I won’t. I’ll have to see what style it is and if it will be worth watching. Meaning, I don’t want to listen to questions that are completely useless and waste time.
